Overview

The Special Projects Unit (SPU) was established in 2016. It emerged from the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) Unit. Its core mandate is to oversee the implementation of Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) projects, along with Constituency and Zonal Intervention Projects across Nigeria. The SPU serves as a vehicle for driving grassroots development and poverty alleviation through projects covering sectors such as Education, Health, Roads/Infrastructure, Water, Energy, and Supplies for empowerment.

The SPU's mandate is to implement SDG-aligned initiatives focused on fostering socio-economic growth and improving the living standards of citizens, especially in underserved communities. The Unit supervises and ensures quality service delivery aimed at realizing the President's Renewed Hope Agenda.
